When the Demons Arrive... by ~NikeDorchain on deviantART

''And just how much protection is truth, against all Satan's might...''

Got my inspiration from the ''Spirit of Man'' mini game for the Ipad ''War of the Worlds Adventure Game'' Where you need to keep the Demons away, they take the shape of Martian Fighting Machines and Mechanical Skulls... and I got the idea to use my Full Size Sideshow Terminator Endoskull in the War of the Worlds project, and I think it fits rather well

Another test image I made today, and I also released some detailed photo's of the Thunderchild:

And how about a super detailed crew... all with my face projected on them xD

WIP - A bunch of f*cking weirdos by ~NikeDorchain on deviantART

The Crew is only seen this way in long distance shots, for detailed views I use real photo's, but for long distance shots, I think it is a waste of render time to use super detailed humans So I'm not going into a cartoony direction or anything, it is just to save time on a model that already pushes render times up very far (takes a good 30 minutes to render the Thunderchild)

As always, large images can be seen by clicking the thumbnails, especcially with the ''When the Demons Arrive'' piece it looks much better in a large resolution.

What do you guys think?

Thanks! No awesomeness for the crew though? They ultimately lose their lives though! xD I can't blame you though, they look like sh*t xD But then again, they are only used in long distance shots

''One appeared above Big Ben...'' by ~NikeDorchain on deviantART

'''We saw Tripods wading up the Thames, cutting through bridges as though they were paper, Waterloo Bridge, Westminster Bridge... One appeared above Big Ben''

Another simple test picture I made today, it has a motion blur over it, as if the Martian Fighting Machine is roaring it's distinct ''ULLAH'' howl. Also added a little glow to the eyes, which I think looks pretty cool and menacing.

Fighting Machine modelled in Sketchup and Rendered in Vray, Big Ben is an actual picture I took (by good fortune) a few years ago when I was in London.

What do you think

Thank you, I found a very old piece of mine, that was basicly the same picture but from two years ago:

One appeared above Big Ben... by ~NikeDorchain on deviantART

It's a lot of fun to see how I improved (Although still far from perfect)
I've been modelling much more detailed, the new Fighting Machine is 6x more detailed then the old one in terms of polygons.
I've found a decent render program and no longer have to use Rollercoaster Tycoon 3, which in my opinion has a much more realistic effect.
I work much more with colors and lights, although this is something I've been doing very little until now.
And I am incorporating real photos which I think gives a much more realistic effect then the old game screen shots. This however creates it's own set of problems, compositing real photographs with CGI stuff, and other photographs which were made in different light and weather conditions is a hard task

But all in all, I think I have improved over the last few years
