I think I (or someone else) have asked this question before, but I need ask again..

Just watching, once again, the 'Deconstructing' DVD from the collectors edition, and listening to the pieces being played by Jeff on his piano in the studio. Frankly, I don't want it to stop! I just want to hear more of it played like that. It is possible/feasible that a solo recording like this will ever appear?

I meant to ask Jeff this at the dress, but of course in the heat of the moment, completely forgot!

Thoughts anyone?

Chris

It's a nice idea. I liked the piano stuff too.

I'll put it to Jeff but I can't promise anything.

Yes, I believe I first mentioned it in an early thread on the 'Questions and Answers' forum.

I also said that I would like to see Jeff perform the music live at maybe the Royal Albert Hall.

With my suggestion months before the announcement of the concerts, I am very pleased that my 'crystal ball gazing' proved correct and I was priveliged enough to see the live show at the RAH last night!

But I would still like to hear an album of Jeff playing solo all those familiar motifs on a piano. Would anyone else be willing to pay for such an album?

It would certainly be interesting to hear more of WotW played on the piano... it does sound good on the DVD

I would love to see the solo piano music released as sheet music. I have the sheet music which is now out of print, but that is written mainly for more people who wish to play the music as an ensemble and not solo.

As much as a good idea to have a solo piano version of TWOTW would be, it would only appeal to a very small audience. By the time you got to The Artilleryman And The Fighting Machine you would be wanting the bass, synth, drums and orchestra to step in. A selected number of tracks would be ideal, but not an entire album, would sound a bit too tedious after a while.

The DVD documentary that is part of the 7 disc 'Collector's Edition' released last June has a few snippets of Jeff performing just a few seconds of score on the grand piano in his home studio.
