THE WAR OF THE WORLDS LIVE BBC BROADCAST THIS TUESDAY


The War of The Worlds performed live at London's O2 Arena will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 6 Music this Tuesday, September 1st at 1 a.m.
The broadcast will run for 120 minutes and will be live on any DAB Digital Radio, TV (Sky 0120, Freeview 707, Freesat 707, Virgin 909) and Online http://www.bbc.co.uk/6music/
Additionally, the programme will be available on BBC iPlayer for 7 days after the broadcast.

The War of The Worlds - Alive on Stage! 2009 Tour celebrated the 30th Anniversary of the album's release and the show at London's O2 Arena was recorded by Radio 2 on 21 June 2009. This is an extended version of the programme first broadcast on Radio 2 presented by Steve Lamacq.

The show saw Jeff Wayne conducting The Black Smoke Band and The ULLAdubUlla Strings. Featuring 11-foot high 3D photo-real floating hologram of Richard Burton, In Sight and Sound, as George Herbert, The Journalist, Jennifer Ellison as Beth, Parson Nathaniel’s wife, Moody Blues Justin Hayward as The Sung Thoughts of The Journalist, Manfred Mann’s Chris Thompson as The Voice of Humanity and Alexis James as The Artilleryman. The role of Parson Nathaniel was performed by Australia's No 1 artist and MTV's Best Male Artist 3 years running Shannon Noll.

There will be an additional broadcast around Christmas, which will be heard nationally on Radio 2. The exact date is to be announced.
