THE WAR OF THE WORLDS ON BBC RADIO 2


We are pleased to announce that BBC Radio 2 will be repeating the full length version of The War of The Worlds - Alive on Stage! performed live at London's O2 Arena, on New Year's Day - January 1st, 2010 at 10 p.m.

The War of The Worlds - Alive on Stage! 2009 Tour celebrated the 30th Anniversary of the album's release and the show was recorded at London's O2 Arena by Radio 2 on 21 June 2009. This is a repeat of the extended version of the programme first broadcast on Radio 2 presented by Steve Lamacq.

The repeat will include an interview with Jeff Wayne and other musician vox pops. The broadcast will run for 2 hours and will be available to listen online at: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2

The programme will be available on BBC iPlayer for 7 days after the repeated broadcast.

The show saw Jeff Wayne conducting The Black Smoke Band and The ULLAdubUlla Strings. Featuring 11-foot high 3D photo-real floating hologram of Richard Burton, In Sight and Sound, as George Herbert, The Journalist, Jennifer Ellison as Beth, Parson Nathaniel’s wife, Moody Blues Justin Hayward as The Sung Thoughts of The Journalist, Manfred Mann’s Chris Thompson as The Voice of Humanity and Alexis James as The Artilleryman. The role of Parson Nathaniel was performed by Australia's No 1 artist and MTV's Best Male Artist 3 years running Shannon Noll.
